AYSO UNITED UTAH was one of the original six inaugural programs launched in 2016 as part of AYSO’s official expansion into competitive club soccer. The foundation for this launch began in 2012 with a pilot program in Region 354 (Sandy/Draper) known as AYSO XFC—short for "Generic Football Club." This early initiative demonstrated that AYSO could successfully compete within the highly saturated Salt Lake City club soccer market. Building on that success, the program expanded into Northern Utah counties and laid the groundwork for broader growth.
With the official launch of the AYSO UNITED National Program in 2016, AYSO UNITED UTAH continued to grow rapidly—expanding from just four teams in 2012 to over 50 teams by 2022.
